Choosing the Right Doctor for You

At GNP, all our affiliated doctors share the same philosophy: your health care decisions should be made by you and your doctor. When it’s time to choose your doctor, we’ve made it easy. Using the intuitive search tool on our website, you can easily find a health care professional by name, specialty, location, hospital network—even by language. We make it simple because we know how important it is to find a doctor who’s right for you. We also contract with many of the major insurance carriers, so chances are we have an existing relationship with yours.

Are You 65 or Older? Learn About Your Options with Medicare.

Medicare is a national United States health insurance program. You're entitled to Medicare if you're at least 65 years old and a U.S. citizen, or a permanent legal resident for the past five years. Medicare also covers some people with disabilities under age 65. People who receive Social Security disability insurance usually become eligible for Medicare after being disabled for two years consecutively. Those with end-stage renal disease (permanent kidney failure) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) can be eligible immediately.

Health Insurance Plans

Greater Newport Physicians MemorialCare (GNPM) accepts most major HMO plans. Medicare, private indemnity and supplemental insurance plans will vary for each private practice doctor who is contracted with GNPM. PPO and EPO plans will also vary for all of our doctors. Visit your health insurance carrier’s website or call the number found on the back of your health insurance card to ensure your provider is in GNPM's network. Applicable copayments and fees for services not covered by insurance are collected at the time of visit.
