Xiao-Ling Zhang, MD

Xiao-Ling Zhang, MD grew up in China in a family of physicians. 

“I learned to appreciate just how amazing the human body is from an early age. Medicine has always been my calling, and there is nothing I love more than helping patients live longer, healthier, and happier lives.”

Dr. Zhang says she appreciates the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life. “Everyone deserves access to high-quality care,” she says. “One of the reasons I started TotalCare was to help patients in underserved areas who have a tough time seeking medical care, whether due to cultural or socioeconomic barriers.”

In addition to her work with patients, Dr. Zhang has authored more than 30 research papers, mostly related to pulmonary disease. She has also been named Doctor of the Year at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, and been awarded an American Heart Association Fellowship and World Health Organization Award.

In her off hours, Dr. Zhang says “I absolutely love yoga, and have made it part of my daily activity for years. I also enjoy cooking, traveling, and spending time with my family.
