Shamili Allam, MD

Dr. Shamili Allam is a fellowship-trained, board-certified cardiologist with Pacific Cardiovascular Associates in Los Alamitos. 

Her clinical expertise includes pacemaker implantation, diagnostic angiography, transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography (TTE and TEE), cardiac CT, nuclear cardiology, electrocardiography (EKG), and treadmill stress testing (TMST). 

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering from the California Institute of Technology, followed by her medical degree and internal medicine residency at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. She then completed her cardiology fellowship at the University of California, Davis Medical Center. Dr. Allam is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the National Board of Echocardiography, the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, and in Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. 

During her training at UC Davis—a high-volume quaternary care referral center—Dr. Allam also rotated through a small community hospital with limited resources. She led fellow-run teams of residents, interns, and medical students across various clinical settings. She is experienced in managing a wide spectrum of cardiovascular conditions, from low-risk NSTEMI to complex cardiogenic shock requiring mechanical circulatory support (MCS). 

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Allam has a background in research, having developed chemical assays for next-generation DNA sequencers, integrating multiple aspects of hardware sequencing platforms.
