About
Paloma Loperena, PA-C, grew up in New Jersey and discovered her passion for medicine after working as a pharmacy and ophthalmic technician. “Medicine is always evolving, and I love the opportunity to keep learning and growing,” she shares. Her drive to make a meaningful impact, connect with patients, and collaborate as part of a close-knit team led her to pursue cardiothoracic surgery.
Throughout her surgical training, Paloma was inspired by mentors who showed the importance of compassionate, skillful care - especially for patients facing life’s most challenging moments. “I’m grateful to care for this community and to work alongside such a dedicated team,” she says.
Paloma finds the most rewarding part of her work is helping patients feel supported during stressful times.
“Medicine can be intimidating, so I try to be someone patients can rely on. I treat every person as I would my own family - with respect, compassion, and clear communication.”
Outside of work, Paloma enjoys staying active through hiking and playing sports such as soccer & beach volleyball. If she isn’t outdoors or with patients, you can catch her in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes.
