About Me

Dr. Milan Sheth chose to become a doctor to help treat people's illness through his strong aptitude towards science. He was drawn to his specialized field of oncology because of the rapid scientific growth that has been leading to the developments of new therapies.

After earning his medical degree from the Flinders University of South Australia, Dr. Sheth completed an internship at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco, his residency in internal medicine at Loma Linda University School of Medicine and a fellowship in hematology & oncology at University of California, Irvine. Dr. Sheth is quadruple board certified in internal medicine, hematology, oncology, and palliative care.

Dr. Sheth has a deep understanding of what it is like to be on both sides of the doctor and patient relationship. Having lost both of his parents at a young age to medical illness, he carries a strong sense of compassion and empathy for his patients. It is his mission to give the support his patients need from a health care professional and will not rest until the best treatment option is found. To give his patients a full spectrum of treatment options, Dr. Sheth is a firm believer that allopathic medicine is not the only answer to medical care. There are likely effective treatment options in the other forms of therapeutic medicine, such as Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, naturopathic, and other holistic approaches. Though the knowledge behind those forms of medicine and its effectiveness on cancer is only now being investigated, Dr. Sheth supports an integrative approach to treatment if it is safe to do so.

Dr. Sheth has a special interest in hematologic malignancies, genitourinary cancer (prostate, bladder, testicular, and renal cancers), melanoma, and lung cancer. His completed research in leukemia and prostate cancer during his fellowship and has been published in peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Sheth continues to educate and teach physicians as a clinical professor for the University of California, Irvine. He participates in community outreach programs to bring awareness to cancer and cancer prevention strategies. Dr. Sheth works alongside hospital administration to promote best practices based on evidence-based guidelines. He has received numerous awards and accolades, and is the recipient of Long Beach Medical Center’s “Simply Better Physician Award.”

Dr. Sheth takes pride in the special relationships he cultivates with his oncology patients. He gains great satisfaction from helping his patients realize there is real hope to cure them through the new treatment therapies available.

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Sheth loves to socialize with friends and family, play games, read books, and watch movies. Additionally, he enjoys exercising, traveling and both playing and listening to music. He was born and raised in Southern California and takes great pride in giving back to the community in any way possible.
