About Me
Michael A. Fischman, MD, is a nephrologist serving residents of Southern California at Southland Renal Medical Group, with kidney treatment centers in Long Beach, Downey, Fountain Valley, and Los Alamitos, California. He specializes in patient-centered, value-based care for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease. His goal is to provide high-quality health care to men and women suffering from any type of kidney disease.
Dr. Fischman left his native Los Angeles to earn his undergraduate degree at Babson College in Boston. He then traveled to Grenada, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine from St. George's University School of Medicine. After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Fischman moved to New York City, where he completed his training in internal medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. He then moved again, this time back to Boston, to complete a Harvard Medical School joint fellowship in nephrology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.
Today, back in California, Dr. Fischman enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He also likes cycling, running and traveling with his friends.
