Mehrdad Saliminejad, MD

Dr. Mehrdad Saliminejad (Dr. Sal) is a board-certified gastroenterologist and serves as the Medical Director of Advanced Endoscopy Services at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center.

Dr. Sal completed his medical school, residency, and fellowship in gastroenterology at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. He moved to the United States where he completed his medical residency and GI fellowship at Keck School of Medicine, USC. Subsequent training in advanced endoscopic ultrasound for gastrointestinal oncology was completed at University of Montreal, Canada.

He joined the GI faculty at Southern Illinois University (SIU) and served as the Director of Advanced Endoscopy and Chief of the Gastroenterology Division, leading both departments until his move to California.

Dr. Sal is leading the expansion of interventional gastroenterology services as Medical Director of Advanced Endoscopy Services at Long Beach Medical Center. These procedures and services are less invasive than surgery and benefit patients for earlier diagnosis, treatment and better outcomes.

Dr. Sal is an active member with the American Collee of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

In his free time, Dr. Sal enjoys spending time with his family.  They love being in the outdoors, often hiking at local sites, and are active members of the Bolsa Chica Conservancy in Huntington Beach.
