About

Manish Prasad Shrestha, MD, FACP grew up in Kathmandu, Nepal. He is Board-certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. “I was initially drawn to medicine because of the respect and trust that comes with being a physician,” he says. “I have since discovered my purpose and passion in the field of medicine. I feel extremely privileged that I am able to help patients and alleviate their suffering.”

Dr. Shrestha earned his medical degree in Nepal and moved to the United States, where he completed a residency at Saint Francis Hospital, which is affiliated with the University of Illinois at Chicago. He subsequently completed his gastroenterology fellowship from University of New Mexico. He also trained as a National Visiting Inflammatory Bowel Disease Fellow at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Prior to joining MemorialCare, Dr. Shrestha served as faculty at University of Arizona (Tucson), Loma Linda University and University of California, Riverside.

Dr. Shrestha provides a full spectrum of gastroenterology services. “I get to see patients with emergencies such as acute gastrointestinal bleeding, as well as chronic conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease,” he says. “Knowing that I’ve made a meaningful difference in someone’s life is incredibly rewarding. I believe in providing the best care, care that I would want for myself and my family.”

When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Shrestha enjoys hiking and playing ping pong.
