About Me

Dr. Bacon graduated from Spelman College in Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Meharry Medical College in 2010. Her Post Doctoral training was completed at Morehouse School of Medicine in 2015 to complete her General Surgery Residency and the University of California Irvine Medical Center in 2016 for her Advanced GI and Minimally Invasive Surgical Fellowship.

She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American Medical Association and American College of Surgeons. She is also an active member in the local Southern California Chapter of the American Medical Association. Her scholastic awards from Meharry Medical College include Clinical Science Department Honors and the Matthew Walker Surgical Award for top performing surgery student. At Morehouse School of Medicine, she held positions of Administrative Chief Resident, Resident Ambassador to the Board of Trustees, and Surgery Representative for the Resident Association Committee.

Dr. Bacon has many surgical interests to include Advanced Laparoscopic General Surgery interventions and Robotic procedures such as colorectal resections, hiatal and paraesophageal hernias, and nissen fundoplications for treatment of GERD. She is currently on the planning committee at Mission Hospital to implement a Bariatric program for the Southern Californian community.
