Ketan K Thanki, MD

Dr. Ketan K. Thanki is a fellowship-trained, board-certified colorectal surgeon who specializes in benign and malignant disease of the colon, rectum and anus with the MemorialCare Todd Cancer Institute at Long Beach Medical Center.

His clinical interests include the full spectrum of colorectal diseases including colon, rectal and anal cancers; condyloma acuminata; anal intraepithelial neoplasia (AIN) and dysplasia; benign anorectal conditions (hemorrhoids, fissures, fistula); pelvic floor disease (rectal prolapse, constipation); diverticulitis and associated complications; and inflammatory bowel disease including Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis.

Dr. Thanki earned his medical degree from Saint George’s University School of Medicine, a Master of Medical Science in gastrointestinal diseases, and completed his residency in general surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He then completed a fellowship in colorectal surgery from Medstar Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Thanki is board certified by the American Board of Colon & Rectal Surgeons and American Board of Surgery.

Previously, Dr. Thanki served as Faculty Colorectal Surgeon with the Valley Health System General Surgery Residency Program in Las Vegas.

He is an active member of the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) and serves on the ASCRS Program Committee and Diversity Equity & Inclusion Committee. Dr. Thanki is member of the American College of Surgeons (ASC), Association of Out Surgeons and Allies (AOSA), LGBTQ Center of Southern Nevada Medical Advisory Board.

Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, exploring local foods and wine, and outdoor activities such as hiking, and spending time with family.
