I chose a career in medicine because of my desire to help others and my passions for problem solving and science. I specialized in Neurology because of the complexity and unique challenges presented by neurological disorders. I look forward to working with my patients to help them improve the health quality of their lives.

Dr. Patel earned a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science and health and a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City prior to entering medical school.

Through the University of Utah, Dr. Patel participated in Field Studies in Thailand and Peru, and acted as Student Director for a Service Learning project in India. During his residency and Fellowship, he conducted lectures and symposiums on a variety of neurological topics such as neurodegenerative disorders and epilepsy. Within Neurology, Dr. Patel has special interests in: Headache Disorders, Neuropathy, Neuromuscular Disorders, Epilepsy, and Electrodiagnostic studies such as EMG and Nerve Conduction studies. Among his many honors, he received the Neurology Resident Excellence Award while at UCI.

When not in the office, Dr. Patel enjoys playing and watching a number of different sports including: basketball, football, skiing and biking.

As a specialist, Dr. Patel may not be selected as a primary care physician. Dr. Patel accepts patients age 18 and over.

Best Neurologist I’ve HadDoctor Patel is very thorough in his care. I found he dove deeper into my condition than my previous neurologist. He takes time and demonstrates interest in his patients. I feel extremely fortunate to have found him. He is a part of the practice with my primary care physician so that is very, very convenient for me.
