About Me
Dr. Farzad Massoudi came to the U.S. in 1979 where he attended high school at Mercersberg Academy in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, he moved to Irvine, California where his family had relocated. He attended the University of California, Irvine and received degrees in both biology and mathematics, graduating in the top 5% of his class. He earned his medical doctorate from Georgetown School of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in 1991.
Upon graduation he had distinguished himself in neuroregeneration research and was awarded the Outstanding Research award in his class. He completed his neurosurgery residency in 1998 at UCLA where he trained under some of the most prominent names in neurosurgery today. Dr. Massoudi is a board certified neurological surgeon and holds the position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery at UCLA, where he enjoys teaching residents the most advanced surgical treatments of the brain and spine. His areas of clinical interest include minimally invasive brain and spine surgery, complex spine surgery and frameless stereotactic radiosurgery of the brain and spine. Dr. Massoudi is considered to be one of the pioneers in developing the field of frameless radiosurgery around the world. Dr. Massoudi is a dedicated physician in both the care of his patients and in adhering to the challenges of incorporating advances in new technology into his practice.
Away from his practice, Dr. Massoudi enjoys speaking to the community and professional groups on neurosurgical topics pertaining to the health of the community and care of patients with neurosurgical disorders.
