About

Connor J. Farrell, DO is an athlete and sports medicine physician who has dedicated his professional life to providing his patients with non-surgical management of tendon injuries, arthritis and joint disorders, nerve injuries, and other musculoskeletal conditions. “My decision to pursue healthcare was largely influenced by my mother, who was a nurse,” he recalls. “I always admired how patients would approach her and share their stories of her care when we were walking around town. As I progressed through college, I was drawn to medicine specifically because of the connections and relationships that develop when treating patients - similar to those I saw my mother develop.” Dr. Connor says his desire to pursue sports medicine specifically reflects his growing up an athlete and the interactions that he had with the healthcare system. “I have always been fascinated with the musculoskeletal system and the biomechanics of the body. Sports medicine felt like a natural way to bridge my identity and passion with a career.”

Dr. Farrell has authored numerous articles and chapters in various sports medicine journals and books, and has presented at sports medicine conferences all over the country. “My clinical interests include diagnostic and interventional ultrasound, orthobiologics/regenerative medicine, overuse injuries, human performance, and injury rehabilitation and prevention,” he notes. He has earned additional certification in musculoskeletal sonography, which highlights expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound. “In addition to clinical practice, I have a strong passion for community involvement, medical education, and academics. I have provided medical care for teams at Long Beach State University, Cypress College, and the Southern California Summer X Games. While in Oregon, I served as an assistant physician for Portland State University, worked adjunctly with the University of Oregon Track & Field team, and covered mass sporting events such as the Portland Marathon and NCAA Track & Field National Championships.”

“I believe in a patient-centered approach to medicine, recognizing each patient has a unique story and health goals. By building strong patient relationships, it is my goal to treat patients through education and individualized care plans so that they can achieve their specific goal. My favorite part about medicine is developing lasting relationships with patients and helping them overcome barriers to live a fulfilled life. My most satisfying experiences come from hearing how treatment plans allow patients to achieve goals such as returning to their favorite activity, visiting foreign countries, climbing mountains, winning races, and even doing little things like walking around the neighborhood.”

In his free time, Dr. Connor enjoys CrossFit, triathlons, hiking, mountain biking, and snowboarding. He completed a half Ironman in May 2025. “When I’m not outdoors, I like watching Bay Area sports teams, cooking and hosting events, and spending time with family,” he states. “I’m looking forward to doing the LA Marathon in 2026 and a full Ironman in the coming years.”
