Chris W Pan, MD

Dr. Chris Pan is a board-certified cardiologist with Optum in the Long Beach office.

Dr. Pan earned his combined medical degree and master’s in business administration (MBA) degrees from the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at UC Irvine Medical Center. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine and Interventional cardiology also at the UC Irvine Medical Center. During his fellowship training, he served as chief fellow. Dr. Pan was awarded the American College of Cardiology (ACC) in addition to an Excellence in Cardiology Fellowship. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and nuclear cardiology.

After completing his training, he was a staff attending physician and served as an associated fellowship program director at UC Irvine Medical Center. He came to Long Beach to continue his medical services. As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Pan diagnoses and treats heart disease through medication as well as catheter-based procedures using stents and balloons. 

A self-described “energizer bunny,” Dr. Pan’s medical mission is to make a positive impact on people, one patient at a time. He does this by educating them on their heart disease, and practical lifestyle changes that can keep their hearts healthy.

Dr. Pan continues to give lectures to the cardiology fellows and internal medicine residents despite a busy practice.   

In his free time, Dr. Pan enjoys snowboarding, playing basketball, entrepreneurship, and exploring different cultures.
