Dr. Semerjian is board certified in both internal medicine and nephrology. He is a fellow at the American College of Medicine and at the American Society of Nephrology. Dr. Semerjian has developed CKD programs, has overseen the implementation of various clinical pathways, and has established proper disease management protocols for various dialysis facilities. Dr. Semerjian currently serves as Medical Director at several local dialysis facilities, and is the current Chief of the Nephrology Section at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center.
Dr. Semerjian is a firm believer that patient education is the corner stone of improving the outcome of individual kidney disease patients. By having created and supervised disease management protocols for both Chronic Kidney Disease and Dialysis programs, Dr. Semerjian strives to assure the delivery of the best quality care to his patients. By judicial utilization of available resources and by close interaction with other members of each individual patient’s treatment team, Dr. Semerjian helps his patients to maneuver the different stages of kidney disease and helps them make the transitions through these stages as smooth as possible.
