About

Andrew Yoon, M.D., serves as the Medical Director of Heart Failure at the MemorialCare Heart & Vascular Institute at Long Beach Medical Center. He is board-certified in Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology; Cardiology; and Internal Medicine.

He earned his medical degree from New York Medical College and completed both his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Disease fellowship training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in The Bronx, New York. After completing his fellowship training, he served on the academic faculty as a professor of Cardiology and Radiology at the Keck Medical Center of USC, where he practiced and taught general cardiology, advanced heart failure, transplant cardiology, and advanced cardiac imaging until 2018 when he joined the Long Beach Medical Center.

Dr. Yoon’s areas of research are focused on congestive heart failure and advanced cardiac imaging. He has published more than 50 research articles, abstracts, and textbook chapters, including a textbook on pericardial diseases.

Dr. Yoon’s desire to specialize in cardiology began during his first cardiology rotation as a medical intern. There he saw firsthand how the smallest adjustments to a patient’s treatment could have a profound impact on their cardiovascular health and sense of well-being.

I feel the most satisfaction when working with someone who is really sick and watching them get better and return home to their families. I believe it is one of the unique privileges of being in medicine.

Dr. Yoon is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a Member of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.
