About

Vincent Kao, DO chose gastroenterology as his specialty because it is a diverse field of medicine. “Gastroenterology encapsulates a wide expanse of pathology, outpatient care, procedural intervention--both routine and emergent--as well as acute inpatient care. This variety fits me personally and brings me a sense of accomplishment.”

Dr. Kao is a native of Southern Californian and completed all of his training locally. While in the University of Southern California’s Department of Internal Medicine, he was named both the Resident and the Intern of the Year. He speaks Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.

The healthcare industry can often feel like a vast and complex system, where both doctors and patients may seem like small components within it. However, at its core, healthcare is built on the most fundamental, personal, and compassionate interactions—a one-on-one conversation between a patient and their physician. I remain dedicated to this principle, ensuring that every patient receives the same care, attention, and respect as a member of my own family.” Overall Dr. Kao wants patients to know that “I am a kind and caring person at heart. My greatest satisfaction comes from helping patients in both very modest ways--and sometimes in the most emergent ways.
