The Women's Hospital at Saddleback Medical Center offers an in-person prenatal breastfeeding class taught by an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) registered nurse.
This class teaches expectant mothers and their partners essential skills for successful breastfeeding, including:
- Newborn breastfeeding expectations
- Benefits for both mother and baby
- Proper positioning and latch techniques
- Tips for increasing comfort and confidence
- How to determine if your baby is getting enough milk
- Basic pumping information
- Available resources
Expectant mothers and partners must register individually. This class should ideally be taken during the third trimester of pregnancy.
