The Women's Hospital at Saddleback Medical Center offers an in-person prenatal breastfeeding class taught by an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) registered nurse.

This class teaches expectant mothers and their partners essential skills for successful breastfeeding, including:

  • Newborn breastfeeding expectations
  • Benefits for both mother and baby
  • Proper positioning and latch techniques
  • Tips for increasing comfort and confidence
  • How to determine if your baby is getting enough milk
  • Basic pumping information
  • Available resources

Expectant mothers and partners must register individually. This class should ideally be taken during the third trimester of pregnancy.
